The children have enjoyed the stage area, singing along to nursery rhymes and pop music.

All the World's a Stage

They have tried out a variety of percussion instruments and sometimes sung duets.

They have moved rhythmically using dance ribbons. Great fun!

Jonnie, the PE specialist, invited Nursery to participate in a taster P.E. session. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and practised our skills.

Feeling the Burn!

We practised stepping over hurdles...

then we tried jumping over with our feet together.

We listened carefully to Jonnie's instructions and managed to move around the hurdles without bumping.

Other skills practised included side stepping and skipping.

We finished with a cool down involving stretching.

We're Going on A Bear Hunt!

For the week beginning the 1st of October, our book of the week was 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt,' by Michael Rosen. This supported our theme of 'Light and Dark' as the family in the story eventually find a bear in a dark, scary cave.

We decided we needed to go on our own bear hunt, morning and afternoon, and what a surprise we got as we explored the nature reserve in our school field...

The Expedition begins...

We're going on a bear hunt.

We're goingto catch a big one.

What a beautiful day!

We're not scared.

Uh-oh!

Grass!

Long wavy grass.

We can't go over it.

We can't go under it.

Oh no! We've got to go through it!

Swishy swashy!

Swishy swashy!

Swishy Swashy!

Uh-oh!

A river!

A deep cold river.

We can't go over it.

We can't go under it.

Oh no!

We've got to go through it.

Splash splosh!

Splash splosh!

Splash splosh!

Uh-oh!

Mud!

Thick oozy mud.

We can't go over it.

We go under it!

Oh no!

We've got to go through it!

Squelch squerch!

Squelch squerch!

Squelch squerch!

Uh-oh!

A forest!

A big dark forest.

We can't go over it.

We can't under it.

Oh no!

We've got to go through it!

Stumble trip!

Stumble trip!

Stumble trip!

Uh-oh!

A snowstorm!

A swirling whirling snowstorm.

We can't go over it.

We can't go under it.

Oh no!

We've got to go through it!

Hooooo wooooo!

Hooooo wooooo!

Hooooo wooooo!

Uh-oh!

A cave!

A narrow gloomy cave.

We can't go over it.

We can't go under it.

Oh no!

We've got to go through it!

Tiptoe!

Tiptoe!

Tiptoe!

WHAT'S THAT?

Luckily for us, we found a very friendly bear, who was more scared of us, than we were of him.

After a chat with the bear, we began hunting for the other friendly bears living in the forest.

We're not scared anymore!

What's Baking in the Mud Kichen?

We have made the most of the October sunshine by being busy in our mud kitchen. Here are some of our marvellous mud masterpieces!

And when we have finished, we always remember to wash up and clean away, ready for the next time.

Library Buddies

Every Wednesday, the Nursery children meet up with the Year 6 children to share books in the library. We really enjoy this time to share stories together.

Halloween Fun

We've had a busy time in Nursery with Halloween arts and crafts. Well done for all you super costumes.
